The Design And Implementation Of Infrared Gateway And Three Meter Gateway In BACnet

BACnet (A Data Communication Protocol for Building Automation and Control Network) is a kind of data communication protocol designed for building automatic control networks. BACnet is adopted by ISO as the official international standard. The fundamental goal of BACnet is to define a standard in building automatic control to realize the inter-operation among the devices from different producers.The core parts of intelligent home system based on BACnet are home gateway server and direct digital controller. As the main BACnet nodes, these two kinds of device build the BACnet networking framework. Other devices (such as light, alarm, electronic lock)in intelligent home connected to DDC are managed in means of the object mechanism supported by BACnet.The data format is different between the edge system and the BACnet networks. IR remote-control is the people-machine interface in intelligent home system, but it is not a BACnet device. So if we want to get IR remote-control access to BACnet, a special gateway is required. The same issue exists in three meter system. The control of three meter by home gateway should according to the special regulation launched by the Ministry of Construct. All in all, whenever the data of edge system need to transmit in BACnet, it must be change to the BACnet format by the corresponding gateway.This article introduces the two concepts of intelligent home and BACnet protocol. Then it set out the feasibility analysis, project system design, several detail points, and general description of the system implementation. We describe about the design and implementation of both IR gateway and three-meter gateway in details respectively. Finally, we make the testing scheme including testing steps, testing case,testing result report. In the end, the summary of this paper analyses some problems need to be solved or improved and list the advice definitely which makes the reference for future development.
