Mixed transportationis pervasive in urban road of china. Consider the factors such asalong distance between road networks, high density of pedestrians, and low quality of roadcivility and so on;traffic conditions in chinais very differtfromthat in the western developedcountries. Therefor, the pltoon dispersion features is very difference between them. Newresearches on the pltoon dispersion features are presented in this paper. And on this basis, study the pltoon dispersion features for the traffic conditions in china to get the parameterswhich can describe the pltoon dispersion fertures in china.Do further research on two important part of traffic signal coordination control, based onthe platoon dispersion features. Those two important parts are subarea division andcooerdinated control.Do further study on subarea division to solve the problem that traditional method can notbe applied to too long road between two intersections, based on the previous research results.Combined with the division method of coordinated control subareas, presents acomprehensive division method. Huanshi road in Nansha region is to be used to verify theeffectivess of the research. The result of the coordinated control is often not ideal. It shows less consideration to theplatoon dispersion features. For that reason, improves the MAXBAND models andMULTIBAND models which are classical models of coordinated control. Build an improvedMAXBAND model and an improved MULTIBAND model based on the platoon dispersionfeatures. Do an example analysis to verify the effectivess of the research. Finally, does the traffic signal coordinated control scheme design of the Huanshi road.Use the Vissim to verify the effectivess. The results show that the improved MAXBANDmodel and improved MULTIBAND model could enhance the effectiveness of the coordinatedcontrol. Compared with the traditional method, new models drop the stopping rate and trafficdelays by20percent. The case proved that the research has very important theoretical andpractical meaning.
