The continuous development of automobile industry and the increasing number ofelectrical devices inside the car challenge the communication between the devices ofautomobile. The traditional communication and control methods are of low efficiencyand high cost and with the increasing of wire will cause the routing problems. Besides,large amount of wire and cable inside the car may undermine the stability of theelectrical devices. Considering for the problems above, automobile manufacturers applyserial bus system for transmission and communication to improve the efficiency,stability, and lower the cost. LIN (Local Interconnect Network) protocol that is a lowcost serial bus protocol is widely used in the control of door and window of automobile.And as the interface between LIN protocol controller and LIN physical bus, LINtransceiver is the key factor of the LIN communication network. As a result, theresearch of LIN transceiver is essential.In this paper, we dedicate to design a LIN transceiver, whose main function is tosend the messages from the protocol controller to other LIN nodes and receive messagesfrom other LIN nodes.The structure of this article is as follows. First, the LIN bus protocol and the LINbus communication system are briefly introduced. Then, the basic function and thecomposition of the transceiver have been discussed. The transceiver composed oftransmit module, receive module, reference circuit, over-temperature protect circuit andcontrol module. Finally, all the analysis and simulation of the transceiver are operated.
