Xi’an had a long history and rich cultural heritage. The government made a lot of effortsfor the urban environment protection and development, and also attached great importance tothe moat surrounding environment, had issued a series of policies and strategies to protectand repair the moat ecological environment. It promoted the masses of the people moatinsight into the moat to a certain extent, and Improve people’s understanding and awarenessfor maintaining consistent of the urban modernization and the ancient capital of style.But in the course of practice, because people lack of a unified awareness,the varyingdegrees of destruction of the Ming city wall and moat have occurred and did not take specialprotection measures, the park around the city have been repeatedly destroyed, the moat waterquality is getting worse. Build a beautiful waterfront environment has become a urgentproblem need environmental governance to resolve.This thesis researched on the basis of the analysis of the moat own characteristics andstarted form the formation of the Xi’an moat landscape,used the theoretical knowledge oflandscape ecology, basic ecology, rivers of landscape architecture and urban planning anddesign, aesthetics and sustainable development. Initially proposed planning principles andmethods of the moat ecological landscape zone and provided practical and theoretical basisfor future moat ecological landscape construction by the method s of documentary research,field investigations, comprehensive analysis, summarized. Main summarized the followingconclusion:1. Identify specific targets and provide the guiding ideology, planning principles andurban environment functional orientation for the moat ecological landscape planning.2. Put the moat unique history, culture, customs and folklore into the city moatlandscapeplanning and design on the basis of the aesthetic principles, landscape theory, landscapeecology theory and the idea of people-oriented.3. Planning the moat to be a multi-space ecological landscape promenade with travel,tourism, protection, ecological and other functions based water conservancy construction andcombined with advanced concepts of modern ecological landscape planning.
