With the development of electronic technology, automotive electronics continues to beimproved. It is difficult to meet the needs of customers with touch sensor. Non-contact Hallsensor is emerged because of demands. In recent years, non-contact Hall sensor is one of themost widely used sensors. Its application scope has been gradually extended from the field tothe current, velocity, position, angle and speed measurement, and so on. Hall Sensor has beenwidely used in automotive electronics, industrial automation, aerospace, ship building,medical and other fields.In this thesis, the MLX90360Hall sensor magnetic circuit characteristics is studied andbased on MLX90360sensor, a kind of location sensor is designed. The ultimate goal is that,the MLX90360sensor is applied to the mechtronic industry, such as throttles position sensor,height sensor and level sensor.The MLX90360smart sensor is a three-axis position sensor in a stand-alone package.Conventional planar Hall technology can only sensitive to the flux density appliedorthogonally to the IC surface. The three-axis Hall sensor can also sensitive to the flux densityapplied parallel to the IC surface. The MLX90360is sensitive to the three components of theflux density applied to the IC (BX, BYand BZ). In combination with the appropriate signalprocessing, the magnetic flux density of a magnet moving above the IC can be measured in anon-contacting way. The position information (either angular or linear) can be captured bythis smart sensor.In this thesis, based on a motorcycle throttle, a calibration development platform isdesigned with virtual instrument LabVIEW and VB.NET software to calibrate the MLX90360intelligent sensor. In this platform, there are two routes. One is that, with LabVIEW the drivemotor is rotated, a gear driven valve axis, and the angle information is collected by NIacquisition card and passed to the host computer. The other way is to write parameters to theMLX90360smart sensor by VB.NET. In calibration process, based on an ideal output curveabout the angle to voltage, the relative position of the magnetic element and the sensor can becollected.
