As one of main alignments of mountain highways, the curve section has becomethe area of traffic accidents, for the complexity of linear conditions and theparticularity of driving conditions.So the mountain highway,especially the curvesections,should be one of main preventing objects of the highway traffic accident.How to make mountain highway curve sections more secure is the key to the mountainhighway traffic safety management,and is also the need of social harmony andsustainable development.Firstly,through the statistical analysis on past data of the traffic accident in thecurve section in our country,the traffic safety situation and the developing andchanging trend of the curve section in our country is grasped from a macro level,andits main traffic accident forms are determined,and then main factors that influencingthe traffic safety level in the curve section are looked out for by analyzing the cause ofmain accident forms.Then,based on the critical velocity model of vehicles stability inthe curve section,it is found that the traffic safety in the curve section is mainly relatedto four factors which are the vehicle speed,the vehicle trajectory,the vehicle type andthe road parameter in the curve section.Then on the basis of main influencing factorsof the traffic safety level and main influencing parameters of the critical velocity modelin the curve section,main research contents of vehicle safety features in the curvesection from a micro level are determined.Secondly,through the field observation ofthe vehicle speed in the curve section in mountain highways,the distribution law of thevehicle speed at different sections in the curve section is studied,and the relationalmodel of the vehicle speed,R and CCRs in the curve section in mountain highways isbuilt.Thirdly,through the statistical analysis on observing data of the vehicletrajectory in the curve section in mountain highways,the varying pattern of the vehicletrajectory in the curve section is studied,and the relational model of the transversaloffset of the vehicle trajectory and R,the transversal offset of the vehicle trajectory andCCRs,the transversal offset of the vehicle trajectory,R and the vehicle speed at themidpoint of the curve is built.Finally,aiming at the natural condition and the trafficfeature in the curve section in mountain highways,under the guidance of the"people-oriented" highway geometric design and new ideas of the traffic management,and combining the analysis of the cause of traffic accidents and varying characteristicsof the vehicle trajectory in the curve section,countermeasures to improve traffic safety in the curve section in mountain highways are put forward from the angle of theprevention of traffic accidents.Through studies in this paper,the relational model of the vehicle speed and R,thevehicle speed and CCRs,the vehicle trajectory and R,the vehicle trajectory and CCRsis built,and the main conflict area of the vehicle trajectory in the curve section isgiven,which provide a certain theoretical support for the management of potentialtraffic risks and the formulation of countermeasures to improve the traffic safety in thecurve section in mountain highways....
