Mountain highway traffic safety issue is a complex systematic problems produced by interactive factors like human, vehicle, road and environment,in the past research mainly focused on fixed factors(road vehicle)and no more consideration are given to drivers, which is relatively more complicated a factor. Therefore, the study of the dynamic characteristics of the driver's vision is of great significance.Currently, there has accumulated a large number of dynamic and visual characteristics and related theoretical research on the driver on the highway and urban roads, but the mountain roads is involved with extremely little research,so it is necessary to conduct dynamic visual characteristics of the driver on the mountain road for the traffic safety on mountainous rural roads. With the help of actual vehicle test on mountain highway driver dynamic visual characteristics, research focused on the four typical mountain road environment like the straight downhill section, straight uphill, turn left Turn and turn right Turn.Treatment and research utilized K-Means clustering analysis, check normality, correlation test, regression analysis and other methods of experimental data to study the driver's speed and the dynamic changes of the visual characteristics under various road conditions. The results show that:(1)Compared with the straight uphill, downhill straight line segments with differential velocity change and stability,at this time the driver control the vehicle speed control is relatively stable, and the driver of the road alignment change is greater sensitivity of the linear straight uphill than downhill;(2)Vehicle speed difference has nothing to do with the steering on the curve sections, but the speed difference is closely related to the size of a period of leave on speed, the smaller the radius of the curve, the vehicle speed difference is often greater when the higher initial velocity, the phenomenon is more obvious, occurring at a rate difference is greater than 20 km / h in the case;(3)A straight section of a mountain road, the driver's fixation, fixation angle distribution mainly concentrated in the front left side area, shows that drivers' risk perception bias on the left side of the road;pupil diameter mainly concentrated in 2.0mm~4.0mm.as the slope increases, the rate of change increased with the high discrete pupil diameter;(4)In the curve section, the distribution of the driver's fixation point and the fixation angle is closely related to the direction of the curve, and the consistency of the direction of the curve is consistent with the direction of the curve. The change of pupil diameter has nothing to do with the turn left and right, but directly related to the radius of the curve, the smaller the radius of the curve, the driver's maximum pupil diameter changes per second rate increased;(5)The Slope and the length of the straight section has important impact on the driver's horizontal displacement, but small influence on the driver's vertical displacement and before and after displacement;the movement of the driver's head in the curve section is consistent with the distribution of the driver's fixation point and the angle of view;(6)Use multiple nonlinear regression analysis of the linear path and the driver visual characteristics, operating speed and the driver's vision regression analysis to establish the corresponding regression model. The results of this study provide the experimental basis for the geometric alignment design of mountainous road and analysis of the cause of road vehicle accident in mountain area.
