Combined with Chongqing significant science and technology special project intransportation infrastructure construction,which is key technologies research andapplication of the Chongqing port design and construction with the variation range ofwater level in flood and water depth in storage period, supported by the second stage ofGuoyuan Port in Chongqing, this article carries out the research of combinations ofaction effects in structure calculation, structural damage mechanism and correspondingweak links of new type of large pile spacing high-pile wharf after the impoundment ofThree Gorges reservoir. It will provide technical support to construct high-pile wharfwith the variation range of water level after the impoundment of Three Gorges reservoir.First of all, combined with supporting project and using three-dimensional finiteelement method, this article calculates all kinds of possible load cases for new high-pilewharf structure of three-span and four-pile type, uses MATLAB software programmingfor combinatory analysis of calculated result and proposes the worst loadingcombination for major components in new high-pile wharf structure of three-span andfour-pile type. It will provide reference for design and calculation of the structure whichis similar to new large pile spacing high-pile wharf in the future.Next, based on the calculated result, this article makes use of the worst loadingcombination in major components to carry out three-dimensional finite element staticanalysis and obtains mechanical properties and stress condition in major components,which will provide evidence for component layout in lateral row frame andidentification of sectional dimension.Then, by using SAP2000software, this article carries out wharf structure planeframe structures damage model numerical calculation and pushover analysis under12horizontal action. What’s more, by observing occurrence and development process ofplastic hinge, it obtains force transmission and evolution mechanism in structure anddefinites the structure weak link, which can provide reference for structure optimizationdesign.At last, to know more about the failure mechanism and the plastic hinge’sdevelopment rule in the direction of horizontal and vertical of three-span and four-piletype of high-pile wharf with large pile spacing and to clear the weak links from the spatial structure, through the pushover analysis using the space rigid frame numericalmodel under the most unfavorable load condition.
