The Solar PV charging system has many characteristics, such aspollution-free, no noise, inexhaustible, so it is applied broad in the field of the newenergy charging system. Along with the electric automobiles spread broad in recentyears, its pace of industrialization is also to pick up speed. But how to make the bestuse of solar energy, and how to charge fast and safely becomes the research focus.Aiming at two key technologies in the solar PV charging system, the maximumpower point tracking and the fast charging are studied. After referencing the existingvarious kinds of the maximum power point tracking technology, the chargingtechnology and the design of solar PV system at home and abroad, a new calculationmethod of the maximum power tracking and a automotive battery fast chargingmethod are proposed, the concrete content as follows:First, according to the solar PV cell, the equivalent circuit model is established,and the implicit function equation is converted into an explicit equation through theLambert W function, then the influence law between the model parameters and theoutput characteristic is analyzed. According to the automotive battery, themathematical model theoretically is studied, and the experience parameters of themodel are achieved through the experiment method. They are the theoretical basic ofthe maximum power point calculation and the fast charging method.Second, a method based on extremism solution of the parabola is developed tocalculate the maximum power point because the solar PV cell P-U curve is similarwith the parabola characteristic, then a group of equations is established to solve themodel parameters, and the output characteristic curves with the mutative irradiationintensity and the temperature are obtained. The validity and the accuracy are provedby the four types of the solar PV cells’ experiment data and the error analysis.Thirdly, the equivalent circuit charging characteristic of automobile battery isanalyzed, and the optimal charging curve is obtained by the relationship between the impedance and the discharging. Based on the optimal curve, a fast charging methodis designed. Its validity and correctness are proved by the simulating analysis.Finally, the control methods of the maximum power point calculation and thefast charging are designed. It is simulated under different envirinment in PSIM. Theresult shows the theory is correct, and the method can improve the utilization ofsolar enery, and realize the fast charging of automotive battery.
