Because a static database been used to store evaluation data in the past, each update needed to rebuild database independently, resulting in the lack of convergence and man-agement of historical data. Meanwhile layer update depended on human-machine interac-tion basically, which resulted in update inefficient and the waste of manpower and mate-rial resources. In order to make up for the defects that the repeat of update work and the lack of management of historic data and the inefficiency of update, the paper researches the technology which can incrementally update land intensive use evaluation of devel-opment zone, space-time database will be used to store historical data and present data at the same time, incrementally update technology will be adopted to automatically identify the incremental information, and human-machine interaction will be a complement, in that case, the land Intensive use evaluation of development zone will be updated auto-matically or semi-automatically. The specific contents and results are as follows:(1) Problems of land Intensive utilization evaluation of development zone are ana-lyzed, advantages and disadvantages of several evaluation update mode are summed up, In addition evaluation update content, characteristic and spatio-temporal variation rela-tionship are analyzed in detail, so spatio-temporal database and incremental update tech-nology are selected as basis of evaluation update.(2) The methods which detect changes of land intensive utilization evaluation results of development zone hava been analyzed in detail, including the identification of incre-mental information,determination of the type of change and performance of update oper-ations. On the basis of comparing several mainstream spaio-temporal mode, and accord-ing to the space-time characteristics of the land Intensive use evaluation data about de-velopment zone, Base state with amendments model and Geodatabase model ware adopted to as basic model used in incrementally update technology, and spatio-temporal data model about land entensive use evaluation of development zone was designed, which a space-time database was builded based on.(3) Based on the design of spatio-temporal data model about land intensive utiliza-tion evaluation of development zone in this paper, The update process of evaluation re-sults has been tracked, and the process of incremental updating has been analyzed and designed, including incremental updates of graphics, attributes and data table, and analy-sis of interactive update method as a supplement. At the same time, main query algorithm of space and time which include snapshot query and historical backtracking algorithm ware designed in detail.(4) Based on the spatio-temporal database used in land intensive utilization evalua-tion of development zone, a land intensive utilization evaluation update system used by development zone was designed and developed using The incremental update technolo-gy, the system was used to update land intensive utilization evaluation of Baoying de-velopment zone of Jiangsu province, which verified the applicability of spatio-temporal data model of development zone.
