New Rural Landscape Planning And Design In Gaotai County Based On The Land Suitability

The new rural construction has improved the income level of farmers, and changed thelandscape of villages. However, due to the different locations and economic conditions, thelevel of the new rural construction is extremely imbalance. The northwest area is still farbehind the eastern and central regions. There are tons of problems in Gaotai county of Gansuprovince in the northwest area, such as more farmers, unreasonable layout of agriculturalstructure, underdeveloped social infrastructure, fragile ecological environment and the lowpeople living quality. Consequently, it is imperative to study rural landscape planning ofGaotai county.From the point of reasonable land use and rural landscape enhancement, we did theinvestigation and planning of the eight villages in Gaotai County. And we also referred sometheories and examples about land use and new rural landscape planning at home and abroad.Finally, based on them, we put forward our own ideas. The main contents about my researchare as follows:(1) Analyzed the problems of the new rural landscape planning in northwest area;(2) Elaborated the method and process of land suitability and the principles and methodsof new rural landscape planning and design;(3)Took Houzhuang village in Gaotai County as an example to evaluate the landsuitablity. Based on the GIS, the arable land, residential land, orchard land and facilities landwere selected as the study objects, and the altitude, slope, aspect, road conditions, waterconditions and the current land use condition were regared as the evaluation factors, then theweights of factors used for evaluation were decided by the method of analytical hierarchyprocess (AHP) from three aspects, terrain, environment and status quo. After that, we got theresults of suitability of four land types in Houzhuang village by single factor analysis andmulti-factor overlay analysis. In the end, we took the final results as one basis for the newrural planning and construction, looking forward to make use of land source effectively in thiscoustruction process;(4)Took Xitan village in Gaotai County as an example, then planned and developedeco-tourism village based on Ruins of Camel City culture. Meanwhile, we proposed thelandscape planning pattern of “point, line, plane”. Finally we applied the extracted symbol ofregional culture to five specific landscape types, such as regional architecture, public space, roads, greening and agriculture landscape. Thus we could create the unique local rurallandscape.
