CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) is currently the most promising advanced automatic train control technology, which has a broad application prospects especially in the urban rail transit. China is vigorously developing urban rail transit to solve the urban congestion problem. However, most CBTC systems in the construction of urban rail lines are relying on imported equipments. There is little market share for China’s own CBTC production which is not yet mature enough. How to realize localization of CBTC technology has become research hotspot in China.ATP (Automatic Train Protection) is the core safety protection subsystem and key technology to realize moving block in CBTC. ATP system can be divided into onboard ATP and Zone Controller. The mainly safety service provided by ZC is MA (Movement Authority). According to MA, onboard ATP can calculate ATP curves to protect the train. In addition, functions of ATP include velocity and distance measurement, over-speed protection, train supervision, train-ground communication. Therefore, ATP is no doubt a desirable study subject. Energy-saving problem has raised considerable concern in recent years. Energy consumption is closely related to the train control, various combinations of operating conditions can bring about different computational results. The explosive growth of urban rail transit goes along with amazing energy consumption and economic cost. Energy-saving control of train can effectively avoid the waste of resources, conducive to the long-term healthy development of urban rail transit.The realization of the ATP system is discussed, in consider of energy-saving problem. And the energy-saving coasting, under the control of ATP, is analyzed. Finally the safety protection module of the ATP system is simulated used VC++6.0. This research mainly consists of three parts:The multi-particle model is set up. The kinetics physical model used in over-speed protection calculation is analyzed. The force exerted on train consists of tractive force, braking force and running resistance. The running resistance includes basic resistance and additional resistance. The additional resistance can be affected by ramps, curves, tunnels and other road conditions. The multi-particle model lays the foundation for the ATP simulation.The train management and authorization functions provided by ZC are analyzed as the initial link to calculate the ATP curve. The emergency brake triggering curve algorithm is established to realize over-speed protection calculation of the onboard ATP. An mixed algorithm is presented and applied to search energy-saving coast points, obtaining effective energy-saving benefits. The safety protection module of the ATP system is implemented in software, to simulate the process of the ATP control in the energy-saving operation strategy. A data result set is analyzed to verify the algorithm.
