Belt conveyors are main transportations of conveying coal and play roles of throats in coal mines.With the development of technology,belt conveyors are moving towards larger capacity,faster speed and longer distance.Hence,the energy consumption of belt conveyors dramatically increase along with this trend.However,national energy saving and emission reduction strategy is put forward recently,how to improve the transport efficiency of belt conveyors has become an urgent problem to be solved,thereby,the energy consumption of belt conveyors can be reduced.At present,the energy efficiency of the belt conveyor can be improved at four levels:performance,operation,equipment and technology.The majority of the research focusing on the first three aspects.Operation is a new aspect for improving energy efficiency and reducing energy consumption.At moment,the operation of belt conveyors are monotonous,usually keeping a constant belt speed.By this way,half-loaded or even no-loaded running mode can be appeared.Therefore,energy saving can be achieved by changing the belt speed to keep a full capacity and regulating the transport time.This article includes two parts:optimization of conveyor transport strategy and energy saving control.Firstly,a dynamic energy consumption model of the belt conveyor is established which is based on foundation of energy saving theory.According the energy consumption model,the transport strategy can be optimized with the combination of actual working condition.Meanwhile,the energy efficiency for enterprises can be analyzed by this optimization method.The simulation results show that huge economic benefits for coal mines can be brought by the optimization strategy of the belt conveyor,with adjusting belt speed to keep a full capacity.Secondly,aiming at material instability in actual transport process.An intelligent control method of the belt conveyor is put forward to keep its full capacity.This method contains several steps:analyzing mechanical and electromechanical characteristics of the belt conveyor in speed regulating process,calculating the maximum acceleration of each part which they can withstand to make the process safety,designing the belt conveyor fuzzy controller according to the reference data,choosing belt speed and acceleration as inputs and drive torque as output,blurring the inputs,choosing the corresponding membership functions,defining fuzzy rules,implementing the fuzzy control of the belt conveyor.Finally,an experiment platform is established by combining dSPACE hardware-in-the-loop simulation plat and belt conveyor fuzzy control system.By this way,the matching operation experiment of belt speed with material flow can be implemented in the laboratory,and lay the theoretical and experimental basis for intelligent control of the belt conveyor.A speed sensor is used to monitor the belt speed in real time in order to reflect the reliability and performance of the fuzzy system.Compared with the actual running speed,it indicates that belt speed can be regulated well by fuzzy control system.Fuzzy system is suitable for practical industrial application because mechanical problems during the control process can be avoided and fuzzy control has a strong robustness.This article puts forward a new idea in the field of optimization and control of the belt conveyor by speed optimization and control strategy.Energy efficiency of the belt conveyor can be improved by this method.Energy consumption can be reduced and economic benefits can be increased for coal enterprises at the same time.
