Leaning arch bridge is a new type arch bridge structure which developed in recentyears, and it has a unique shape, full of curves and intensity of feeling, so it used moreand more in modern urban transport. Leaning arch bridge replaces the cross in the twomain arches with leaning arches, so force characteristics changes and some new featuresoccur. Leaning arch bridge has a complex structure and obvious space effect, andseismic response is more complicated. Therefore, it’s of great significance to studyseismic response of leaning arch bridge, in order to guarantee the safty of bridge. Thepaper adopts Liuwu Bridge to study seismic performance for leaning arch bridge.The paper researches leaning arch bridge as following:①Adopting finite element program MIDAS/Civil builds Liuwu Bridge model, andusing response spectrum method calculates seismic performance for leaning arch bridge,and obtains internal force and displacement response of each control sections for thestructure under different vibration input forms.②Using time-history method analyzes leaning arch bridge by inputting threedifferent earthquake waves, and compares internal force and displacement of eachcontrol sections.③Through changing main parameters, such as angles of leaning arch, rise spanratio, brace number and position, stffiness ratio and suspender form, dynamiccharacteristics and seismic response are studid.④Seismic responses of leaning arch bridge and common arch bridge are analyzedrespectively, and internal force and displacement under the action of same waves isobtained. The advantages and disadvantages of two type bridges are summarized bycomparing the seismic responses.
