In China, the arch bridge is one of the most commonly used type, especially in highway bridges. The seismic design of the bridge is the most important part of the bridge design. Earthquake seriously threatens people’s lives and property. Safety of the bridge must be guaranteed when the earthquake happens, which is the important issues of the bridge. Panjin Liandao Middle Bridge is a steel arch bridge with a concrete mix, whose main arch span is200m, with42m width of the bridge, using an auxiliary arch concrete and steel of the main arch. At present, Chinese norms does not have clear provision for the seismic problem of large-span arch bridge. From the literature on the bridge seismic, studies on seismic response control of large-span arch bridge is still small, so on the bridge seismic response analysis, both to ensure their seismic performance, but also can be a reference for seismic research of other similar bridges.Through access to relevant information, it briefly describes the development and characteristics of bridge, and bridge earthquake-related content, illustrates the changes in seismic design method in recent years and introduced the recent bridge seismic design of several major theoretical basis and method of calculating seismic response.According to the above theory of knowledge, based on Panjin Liandao Middle Bridge’s project overview, it builds full-bridge space model, simulating the bridge, and analyzes the dynamic characteristics of the bridge. On the basis of analysis of the dynamic characteristics, according to seismic code, it conducts a response spectrum analysis of the bridge, and obtain a result of the earthquake response.After that, it describes the basic theoretical foundation time history analysis, and select the record time history analysis of seismic waves. It entered earthquake, and gets time history analysis of seismic response results. Finally, It compares the results of the response spectrum analysis of the results.Concluding section summarizes the research work done by the above, and points out some problems to be solved. I hope to provide some useful lessons for the seismic analysis of other similar bridges through the conclusion of this paper.
