Recently, cantilever erection method prevails in the construction of domestic RCarch bridge. Even though the requirement for cableway erecting equipment iseffectively reduced in this way, disadvantages come along, such as excess piecing, poorunity, badly distributed stress, prevalent crevice diseases and undesirable durability. Yet,these problems have been skillfully avoided abroad with the pylon-melan combinedmethod which worked well in the ever-built bridges. This paper proposed the cantilever casting and stiff skeleton method combinedconstruction technique (specifically, the arch ring is concreted with cantilever method inthe first several stages and the remaining central part is casted on the preceding stiffskeleton) and set a RC arch bridge of300m as the research object. Utlizing thistechnique, the operation risk can be reduced because of shorter cantilever length and theproject cost can be economized due to the steel members only fractionally embeded. Therefore, this technique would well play a leading role in the future.Main research contents are in the follows:①Based on collecting and studying correlative literature and information athome and abroad, a tentative design of a RC arch bridge which has a span of300meters has been carried out and the bearing capacity and elastic stabilityhave been examined.②Considering the mechanical behavior, execution condition, economicalefficiency and some other meaningful factors, the total length of stiff skeletonhas been determined through numerical simulation which figured out the pointof both the end of cantilever casting and the beginning of skeleton.③Taking the alignment of arch ring as the control object, six parallel schemeshave been drawn up,corresponding stress and deformation analyses of the archring during construction progress have been made.④Detailed analyses to the steel tube and infilled concrete in every constructioncase have been made with the finite element analysis programme.
