The switched reluctance machine has many advantages such as simplestructure, low cost, high reliability and wide speed range, therefore it is highlyregarded. Switched reluctance machine drive system is a new speed control systemwhich is integrated with power electronics technology, computer controltechnology and microelectronics technology. It has the advantages of both AC andDC speed control system. Related products have been applied in new energyelectric vehicles, household appliances and aviation industry, etc.The main research contents of the project are Direct Torque Control of SRMand high-speed switched reluctance machine drive system. A set of800wattsswitched reluctance machine drive system is designed, and then debug and runningexperiment is conducted. The contents of this paper are as follows:1. The basic theory of SRM is analyzed. The asynchronous motor direct torquecontrol technology applied in SRM drive system is proposed to solve its serioustorque ripple problems. Then simulation compared with current chopping control isconducted. The results prove the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.2. A method of four-level converter applied in high-speed SRM drive systemis proposed to solve the problem of negative torque when SRM is running at highspeed. Then simulation compared with the conventional asymmetric half-bridgeconverter is conducted. The results prove the correctness of the proposed method.3. A switched reluctance machine drive system is designed, withdsPIC33FJ32MC204as the core of control and the asymmetrical half-bridge circuitas the power converter. The system hardware and software design is completed, andthe experimental results verify the feasibility of the system design scheme.
