Wheel hub is the important part in the driving system of automibile.It playsbearing,steering,drive and brake role,ect.Its structure and performance ontonly related to the safety of pessengers,but also directly affect the stability ofthe manipulation,the comforttableness,ect. With the expansion of the privatecar market,more consumers to pursue personalized.Therefore,the aluminumally wheel hub which combine elegant appearance,light quality, high fatiguestrength, durability, sattfy, comfort,and many other features is becoming themain development direction. China has rich traditional culture and its progressin aluminium alloy wheel hub’s design and manufacturing technology thatmake it possible to create our own brand,attracte more local consumer andprovide a good opportunity to enter the international market.This paper usesindustrial design theory and The finite element analysis technology, combiningshape design and structure optimization to the hub design, through the designof the automobile wheel shape and structure lightweight,exploring the modernintergated design method of the wheel’s modelling and lightweight design.Themian research content is as follows:First, study industrial design concept an method in wheel design, putforward the train of thought and method by using the finite element method tocomplete the shape creative design and structural weightlight design of thewheel hub.Second, use the modelling design knowledge such as the industrial designaesthetics,ergonomics and so on.Study the chinese traditional culture to findthe most unique part,simplify and refine its shape,then apply it to the hubmodelling design. Study the car wheel hub which has the antional culturefeature.Summary hub modelling localization design method.Third, according to the hub structure in the modelling design, Build theFinite Element Models of the automobile wheel hub by using UG,throughtheUG structure analysis module researching the wheel experiment theory, the influence of radial load and test bending moment to the hub structure and thedistributing rule of stress and strain.To find out the stress concentrationarea,verify the safety of the wheel hub. According to analysis results, adjust themodelling, analysis again,until we get the perfect results.Last summarizes the designmethod.Above all,this paper uses industrial aesthetics in wheel modellingdesign,combine the finite element theory to optimize the wheelstructure,explore the idea and method which integrates modelling andstructural light-weighting design,it fundamentally solves the contradictionbetween beatiful,bearing capacity and lightweight.At the same time,it canbuild up the theoretical basis for our country in designing the wheel productwhich have independent intellectual property rights and local characteristics.
