In China, the ultraviolet radiation intensity of northwest Inner Mongolia is muchgreater than that of the eastern plain area. High-intensitive ultraviolet radiation canresult in rapid aging of asphalt material, affect the durability of asphalt pavement, thuswill lead to the premature destruction of asphalt pavement. Taking the project thatwould be relied on as research background, this paper analyzed the characteristics ofthe ultraviolet radiation in western Inner Mongolia comprehensively and meticulously.Through the research on indoor accelerated simulation test method of ultravioletaging, the correlation between the actual outdoor solar radiation time in the region andindoor simulated ultraviolet radiation time was established.Based on the analysis of asphalt ultraviolet aging, the influence of ultravioletradiation to the pavement performance of asphalt mixture was further studied. Bymeans of ultraviolet radiation test of the modified asphalt mixture SBS AC-13andSBS AC-16in ultraviolet aging test box with fixed radiation intensity and differentradiation time, the pavement performance degradation rule of asphalt mixture wasconcluded. Through conducting indoor ultraviolet aging test again by adjusting thegradation of aggregates in the mixture and the amount of asphalt, the influence ofasphalt amount and aggregate gradation to the ultraviolet resistance ability of asphaltmixture was obtained.Finally, through the combination of serial tests and the practical situation ofnorthwest Inner Mongolia, the optimal gradation and asphalt-aggregate ratio in theregion considering the environment of intensive ultraviolet radiation were proposed. Itcan provide basis for anti-ultraviolet aging design of asphalt mixture in northwestInner Mongolia.
