The Qinghai province lies in the tallest plateau of the world, because the elevation is high, the air is thin and diluted, suffering the sunlight in the daytime strong radioactive of irradiation, as a result make the asphalt mixture early aging, and affecting the service life of the asphalt pavement road. Through the investigation of documents, field engineering and indoor-outdoor experiments, this study draw a conclusion that photooxidation is one of the main causation to road asphalt aging in strong ultraviolet radiation area.. from the angle of modified asphalt having the ability to resist the ultraviolet aging and low temperature cracking, through the radiation aging test of the AH-110 asphalt mixing with anti-aging agent AW, BLE and UV shielding agent H100 carbon and modified material SBR, analyzed the difference of the every performance index before and after the ageing, chose the effective anti-aging agent. Based on modified asphalt mixtures experiments, it establishes types and design of asphalt mixtures under intensive ultraviolet radiation. Makes use of the intensive ultraviolet radiation aging theories, asphalt mixtures field measured data and multi-layer elastic system aanlysis, it provides asphalt pavements stucture unitized design under intensive ultraviolet radiation. With trial pavement section execution, it froms asphalt pavement materials selecting, asphalt mixture and pavement stucture designing, asphalt mixture production, spreading, roller compaction and etc rules. This paper is of value to provide a reliable analytical method of the asphalt photooxidation aging and prevent road asphalt photooxidation aging under intensive ultraviolet radiation environment. It provides some scientific basises for prevention of diseases of aging asphalt pavement in strong ultraviolet radiation area of Qinghai.
