Given the knowledge of bridge structure damage severity and the limitation of theseismic design method, in the early1990s, American scholars put forward based on theperformance of seismic design theory, received extensive attention of the engineering.Based on the performance of seismic design theory is the development trend of bridgeseismic design. Whether this method can provide a kind of widely used will depend onseismic response analysis method of simple and effective, therefore, Pushover analysis(static elastoplastic Pushover) method gradually formed and continuous development.1. Expounds the performance based seismic design theory of the developmentprocess, the basic framework and analysis process are discussed. The Pushover analysismethod in the research and application at home and abroad to do a brief review;Problems of Pushover analysis method are discussed.2. The basic principle of Pushover analysis method is studied and the concreteimplementation steps. Bridge calculation model is studied. The distributioncharacteristics of plastic deformation of the bridge and the position of plastic hinge,structural elastoplastic simulation, the performance of lateral force loading pattern,refinement and implementation of the capacity spectrum method and so on has carriedon the thorough discussion.3. The single column and double column pier with different lateral force loadingpattern in longitudinal and transverse Pushover analysis, and to compare the analysisresults and the response spectrum analysis method.4. The application of large finite element analysis software, set up a simplysupported continuous beam bridge calculation model, on the whole bridge longitudinaland transverse Pushover analysis, the two directions on the capacity curve, and convert it into power spectrum, and calculated in the design of structure when the earthquakeunder the action of performance, and the results of the analysis and response spectrumanalysis method of results.5. To a large span continuous rigid frame bridge has carried on the Pushoveranalysis, the whole bridge longitudinal and transverse directions is obtained on thecapacity curve and power spectrum curve, and displacement analysis of the controlpoints and compared the results of time history analysis.6. Based on the research results at home and abroad, systematically study and putforward the concrete application of bridge structure Pushover analysis method,calculation steps and analysis process; For seismic design of bridge structure based onthe performance of the operational method.
