| Clear conceptions and simple designs will be provided in design, construction andmanagement of bridge if the mean parameters instead of the primitive system were adopted tocarry on deterministic analysis. However, there are many uncertain and random factors inbridge, what’s more these factors exist in every stage of the service life of a bridge,consequently, the effects of these random factors will be reduced, and which may result inmisjudge on bridge structure. Reliability design methods based on probability theory inconsideration of a large number of uncertain, random factors, and effectively solve the aboveproblem. Unified Standard for Reliability Design of Engineering Structures (GB50153-2008)also makes it clear that the engineering structure design should adopt the limit state designmethod based on probability theory.
