Most of high grade is made up of asphalt pavement in our country, Asphalt pavement aremade by mixing such as asphalt, aggregate and mineral powder evenly, compaction is formed.The asphalt mixture is regarded as a kind of typical particulate materials, in the stages ofmixing, compaction and the late operating service stage. It shows the different rheologicalproperties. At present study based on the rheological characteristics of asphalt mixture ismainly focused on the stage of the operation. The research of rheological properties for designphase of the mixing and compaction is very few.And for the study on the relationship betweenthe rheological properties and construction quality is not perfect enough.Based on asphalt mixture mixing rheological properties tester, and the SGC test,thispaper analyzes the asphalt mixture of the mixing and compaction stage’s rheologicalproperties, And through uniaxial static creep test, the rheological properties of the operationalphase of the asphalt mixture are analyzed. This can build a very good relationship of therheological properties and construction workability.Research results show that: the rheological properties of the same type asphalt mixture ofmixing with the nominal maximum aggyegate size and gradation of the fractal dimensionhave a good correlation. The greater the mixture of the nominal maximum particle size, thebigger of the fractal dimension,the bigger of the mixing rheological properties--k value, theworse of the rheological properties of the mixing, the more difficult it is to mixing. The samenominal maximum size of the different types of mixture, the rheological characteristics ofdiscontinuous gradation SMA-13is worse than continuous gradation AC–13. The fractaldimension is greater than AC–1. It is harder to mixing. Oil stone ratio and the thicknessproportion of aggregate, mineral powder on the rheological properties of the compaction ofasphalt mixture have influence. The rheological properties of the different types of mixturecompaction are not the same. Good compaction rheological properties of the mixture, easycompaction, the better of the construction workability. For different gradation in operationstages, the uniaxial static load creep experiment is conducted. Test the results show that therheological properties of AC-13is better than SMA-13.
