Asphalt and asphalt mixture is a kind of typical rheological material. After intermingled different additives, the component and structure of original asphalt is changed and the rheological properties of asphalt is also altered. Research results think the rheological properties is the effective methods of studying modified asphalt.The paper sets about modified asphalt's rheological properties. firstly, it reviews the advantages and disadvantages between the Superpave and Marshall system and carries out the parallel tests research on the SBS modified asphalt. Secondly, by rheologic tests of SHRP specification system for asphalt, the article analyses the different rheological properties between original and modified asphalt. By the test indoor, the article has gone on a series of rheological tests about original and SBS modified asphalt mixture. By the analysis of a great deal of data, it has verified that SBS being mixed into the asphalt can improve the high-temperature performance of pavement. Finally, by the analysis of test indoor and theory we can build a trail pavement. Then with the observation and analysis, to validate the use performance of modified asphalt for pavement mixture.
