In recent years, with the rapid development of our economy, the growth of highway isbecoming faster and faster. Highway is the inevitable product of social and economicdevelopment. In recent years, as China’s rapid economic development, highway developmentis becoming faster and faster, and vehicles increase are more rapid, but now, the highway tollcollection system is basically a line charge, drivers will line up facing the pay situation in thepeak period, which seriously hindered the road fast, and efficient function; but also causedenvironmental pollution and energy waste. The parking payment system has been graduallycan not meet the requirements of the development for more and more vehicles and moreincreasing efficiency. Adopting ETC can effectively solve this problem, not only can improvethe capacity of the toll station, also greatly reduces the delay of the vehicle at the toll station.This paper gives a introduction on the current situation of the Electronic Toll Collection,and gives a concrete instruction on the double-chip Electronic Toll Collection. The technologyhas carried out description summarizing on whose key.The On Board Unit of the double-chipElectronic Toll Collection is composed of the tag and the double-interface CPU card.It hastwo working mode that one is non-parking with tag and card the other is parking with cardonly.The paper points out the current status and prospects of highway toll collection system,combined with the actual situation of the highway, describes the technology that storing thelicense plate number, vehicle, the owner of the information in the electronic tag, improve theaccuracy of the Automatic Vehicle Identification,the Automatic Vehicle Classification and theVehicle Enforcement. That working principle of the ETC lane and the system composition,and further discussed the ETC system and implementation of work flow system does not meetparking problems and their solutions, lanes the foundation for further research.
