When the ship has been injured, the most important process is to resume the capabilityof navigating and fighting. Ship flooding leads to the floating and stability reduced, seriously,stability deficiency will be a direct threat to the ship survivability. As one of the ship’s mostserious performance evaluation criteria, survivability are very important for both warshipand civilian vessels, for various collision incidents causes civilian vessels to sink just likewarship being arrack. Consequently, how to maintain the survivability of the ship andrespond to different damage in the battle is an urgent problem, which requires thedecision-maker to respond timely according to the damage condition. However, thetraditional decision process is not sufficient enough to achieve the fast and accuraterequirements in some cases. Effective counter-flooding decision aid system is able tomaintain and improve the viability of the damage ship. So the study of the counter-floodingdecision aid will be very important for the improvement of survivabilityAs a basis of the ship counter-flooding decision aid system development, this papermainly focuses on the following aspects:The real-time calculation method for floating condition, initial metacentric height, aswell as anti-wind capability is investigated. And the real-time calculation of damagedcondition, especially the minimum metacentric after damage is the focus part of the study.The measure by using the existing counter-flooding tanks and oil-water tanks togenerate counter-flooding strategy automatically is discussed. By moving, removing andpouring liquid through the shipboard equipment, the strategy can restore ship survivability toa certain extent. After the counter-flooding principles are determined, The rapid calculatemethod based on the adjustment table and the optimized method based on the geneticalgorithm are investigated. By introduced genetic algorithm to obtain the optimal scheme, program can improve the effectiveness to the scheme produce as well as a littletime-consuming.A good man-machine interactive program based on database has been built. The systemmainly realize the real-time calculation of the intact stability, damage stability and floatingstate. Also, the assistant damage adjustment strategy is also provided.
