Energy shortage is one of the important factors of restricting the social andeconomic development. The key to solve the energy shortage is to develop the newenergy technology and achieve the efficient use of it. This paper uses the biomass gas asfuel of engine to research the performance of engine and optimize the engine, achievingthe purpose of using the new energy and improving energy utilization.First, the research bases on a natural gas engine. The engine model is establishedand validated. The combustion performance of five different gasification conditions’biomass gas is researched when the engine uses biomass gas. And the combustionperformance of biomass gas is proved to be optimal when the equivalence ratio forbiomass gasification is0.23. The engine combustion rule and performance curve aregotten. The differences of power performance, fuel economy and emissioncharacteristics are found by comparing the biomass gas engine and natural gas engine. Then, this paper analyses the best structure and operation parameters of biomass gasengine with different loads by combining the engine with the distributed energy system. The results show that under the working condition of1500r/min the integratedperformance of biomass gas engine is optimal when the ignition advance angle is38degrees, air-fuel ratio is1.4, compression ratio is12. Last, this paper designs thebiomass gas engine distributed energy system on the basis of the simulation parameters. At the same time, the biomass gas supply system is redesigned according to the fuelconsumption. This paper also selects the generator mark according to power, anddesigns distributed energy waste heat exchanger according to engine exhaust gastemperature and mass flow rate. All these lay the foundation for the further study.
