In recent years, with the application of renewable energy and development of industrialtechnology, three-phase to single-phase matrix converter attracts more and more attentions for itsprosperous application prospect in certain industrial departments such as household power generationsystems and induction heating.This dissertation firstly introduces the fundamental elements and modulation methods ofthree-phase to single-phase matrix converter, then mainly analyzes the modulation process of thevirtual rectifier and virtual inverter, the relationship between the input current and the virtual DC buscurrent and the relationship between the input current and the output current are given.A three-phaseto single-phase matrix converter with power conpensation is proposed,by controling the voltage andthe current of the power compensation phase,it can compensate the power pulsation of the loadphase,so the converter can get sinusoidal input current. In this dissertation, the modulation process ofthe three-phase to single-phase phase matix converter with power conpensation is analyzed in detail,the dutyfactor formula expression and the method to determine the switch combination is given.The simulation model is constructed on the Matlab software platform and a series of simulationare made. The simulation results indicate that the proposed modulation strategy is correct and feasible;the three-phase to single-phase matix converter with full power compensation can get sinusoidal inputcurrent.Finally, the platform of three-phase to single-phase matrix converter with power compensation isbuilt in which the DSP and CPLD is used as the control unit. A series experiments are done on theplatform, the results show that the proposed modulation strategy for three-phase to single-phasematrix converter with power compensation is correct and feasible.
