Aircraft complex round workpiece is an important branch of aircraft structuralpart, the characteristics of which is high precision of round workpiece and complexstructure characteristic of un-round workpiece.As the main loadbearing element ofaircraft,it makes of super-strength steel,which is a typical aviation difficult processingmaterial with poor cutting performance.It’s machining requires special equipment、process、tool selection、cutting parameter and cooling etc.Conventional processingmethod is difficult to guarantee the quality and efficiency of machining,but in recentyears,it’s being efficiently solved as the rapid development of turning-millingmachining.The machining processing,NC programming,post processing and simulation ofturning-milling maching,as well as the tool life of difficult processing material, are theefficiently processing’s bottleneck of aircraft complex round workpiece. How toachieve low cost with high quality and efficiency through the optimization of cuttingparameter and process is the focus of research.This paper researches on the efficient NC Machining Process of Aircraft complexround workpiece,based on the analysis of complex round workpiece at home and abroadand the existing problems and limitations of the research,combined with enterprisesituation and demands. The major researchs are as follows:(1) The typical structure characteristics and the machining methods of the complexround workpiece are summarily analyzed.The cutting performance of low alloysuper-strength steel300M is summarized,and the research of turning-milling machiningat home and abroad is briefly introduced.(2) In the requirements of aircraft complex round workpiece’s structure andprocess characteristics, the efficient turning-milling machining process and specialmachining fixture are designed,by the analysis of process,equipment,fixture,cutting tooland process establishment.(3) The reasonable turning and milling parameters in the highest production areobtained by the test of turning and milling performance.(4) The outer tub of landing gear is a typical aircraft complex roundworkpiece,which CNC programming,simulation and trial cut are the enterprise’s real technical problems. These problems have been solved by this paper’s efficientturning-milling process and reasonable cutting parameters based on the UG/Vericutsoftware.(5) The common post processing of M1505-axies machine tool has been buildedby the module (UG Post Buider) of UG.
