Hydropower plant design is based on environmental protection staff work and thesafe operation of electrical and mechanical equipment for the target. In North China,long winter, the average temperature is low, some of the station using the electricheating and air heating approach to heating, but this approach takes a lot of power,increasing the project investment and operating costs.During hydropower running, the rotor rotating at high speed, a lot of heatgenerated by friction, the air cooler to the heat exchange means the heat discharged tothe plant, the heat of this part of the heat to be invalid. If the waste heat generated by thegenerator for heating powerhouse can not only save energy, but also reduce the plant’sair-conditioning equipment investment and running costs. However, some tests haveshown that traditional natural makeup air, natural way to put hot air, hot air generatorsput circulating air volume accounted for less than10%. We gongboxia hydroelectricgenerating set#5on-site tests show that the proportion was only8.9%. Gongboxiahydroelectric generator layer heating heat load1482.3kW (one unit operation), and thefield test generator heat release only264.6kW, hot air generators put more restricted use,it is difficult to meet the requirements of the heating plant.Based on generator hot air heating field test of Gongboxia Hydropower, the authorstudied the mechanical ventilation, natural hot air heating mode. Calculation methodusing numerical calculations show that, when the mechanical ventilation rate4m/s, heatrelease is413.3kW, than the natural air heating capacity is increased by56.2%,energy-saving effect is remarkable.This author studied the discharge air heating generators effective airflow patterns. Hot air directly from the cover plate flush with the ground on the natural discharge ofhot air, indoor air, the temperature gradient greater; if we raise the air speed, easy tocause hair feeling, affecting the health of workers. In view of this, the authors propose,set in a hot air plus hood, hood open air collector wind changed to the side air, caneffectively improve airflow conditions.
