At present, high-rise buildings are rising rapidly around the world. As of2011, thenumber of over300m high buildings that have been built in the world is56,22in China. Suchmomentum of high-rise buildings’ development caught many scholars’ more and moreattention on the security issues of high-rise buildings.Stack effect, earthquake, evacuation, fireevacuation are the main objects of study of the scholars. Currently, the measures of solvinghigh-rise buildings’ stack effect are not mature enough. In cold and severe cold areas, the stackeffect in a high-rise building can lead to serious security incidents, such as accelerating thespread of fire, forcing all kinds of doors inside the building to be not opened normally. Inview of the above problems, this paper carry out the related research according to a underconstruction high-rise building in Xi’an.In this paper, the author took the actual high-rise buildings as objects, analyzed thecauses, the influencing factor, the mitigation measures of the stack effect in high-risebuildings in detail. Stack effect is due to the density difference, which is caused by thedifference of indoor and outdoor air temperature. In high-rise buildings, in addition to thebuilding height and the temperature of indoor and outdoor air, the stack effect is also affectedby the leakproofness of the building envelope and interior partition. In view of the latter twofactors, two measures are put forward by the author. That is to strengthen the leakproofness ofthe building envelope and increase the interior partition in the building. The author alsoestablished the physical model of the building by using the program CFD, and implementedthe above-mentioned measures by changing the parameter of the model. Finally, the authorgot the parameters of the interior shaft in the building, and analyzed the effect and feasibilityof the above-mentioned measures. The results show that those measures are able to weaken the stack effect of the high-risebuilding in vary degree. The results of this study provide basic measures and theoretical basis for preventing thestack effect of the high-rise building and designed to optimize high-rise building internalairflow and reduce security incidents.
