Asphalt pavement has the advantage of small noise, comfort driving, excellent wearresistance and cheap construction, but a lot of road problems were generated in the process ofusing. Crack is one of the most common diseases of asphalt pavement. There are many formsof cracks, such as transverse crack, longitudinal crack and so on. At present,many treatmentmethods of longitudinal crack are used and the effect does well. But the disposal methods oftransverse cracks are less than the longitudinal crack`s, and the methods are difficult tocompletely solve the problems which are divided from the transverse cracks according to theexisting research.This paper researches on the mechanism of the transverse crack on the basis of formerstudy. A better way to deal with transverse crack is obtained—the technology of anchor-headsteel wire reinforced asphalt pavement. Some results were got through theoretical analysis,laboratory test, numerical simulation and test road. It is shown as follows:1.There are two ways of paved the anchor-head steel wire reinforced asphalt pavement:in the upper layer and lower layer. Through the sectional area of anchor-head, the addedpressure stress of asphalt mixture is given, and the transverse cracks which are caused by thetemperature stress and reflection crack could be prevented and reduced.2.Based on the result of tensile strength test and bending tensile test, that the flat steelriveted parts of anchor-head has better mechanical properties can be concluded.3.Using the finite element analysis software to compare the reinforced and unreinforcedpavement under the different positions, the best material parameters of anchor-head formanufacture and construction are conclude, and the effect that delay and prevent thetransverse cracks of the anchor-head steel wire reinforced asphalt pavement can be proved.4.Based on theoretical research, the anchor-head steel wire reinforced asphalt pavementcould be applied to the engineering practice. It will play a certain reference and guidance forthe similar projects in the future.
