After more than40years of development, highway CAD technology, which is based oncomputer technology and road-design theory, has developed from merely completingcalculation to the integration of calculation and drawing. Such development couldconspicuously help to shorten highway design cycle and improve design efficiency. At thevery beginning, designers simply paid attention to economy and pursued high index. Butnowadays, with the gradual transformation of highway design concept, designers have putgreat emphasis on the multi-objective designing, which contains security, environmentalprotection, economy, function, comfort, aesthetics, etc. Traditional highway CAD software isonly based on the geometric model and numerical calculation model, but lacks the integrationof environmental knowledge and expert knowledge. Therefore, it cannot meet the requirementof multi-objective design and decision-making. Thus, the research on multi-objectiveoptimized processing rules and the development of intelligent CAD system are of greatimportance for meeting the design goals, improving design efficiency and promoting thesustainable development of highway transportation.By analyzing the influencing factors of highway route scheme and characteristics of theroute selection knowledge, introducing spatial data mining technology and knowledgemodeling method, and combined with route selection process and logical reasoning method,this paper will design space environment processing rules, standard specification rules, overalllayout knowledge rules, route corridor selection rules, special roadbed processing rules andestablish modularized rule base. On this basis, this paper will also analyze task-solutionstrategy, devise control mechanism and design model base. Then, ArcGIS Engine DeveloperComponents, Visual Basic.NET、Microsoft Access Data Base and ArcGIS toolbox are used torealize the integrated development of route selection knowledge base. The research resultswill be of great theoretical significance and practical value for supporting highway routescheme decision-making, improving the efficiency of route scheme decision-making systemand making decision-making more scientific.
