The requirement of energy continues to rise with the development of the world economy,The increase of car ownership makes the car fuel consumption rising, and exhaust emissionspollute the environment. Many major cities in China have a long period of fog and hazeweather. Under the background of optimizing energy configuration, looking for alternativesources of energy, and reducing environmental pollution, methanol gasoline came into being.It has the advantages of low cost, easy processing and less combustion pollution. It is suitablefor use as a gasoline alternative energy. At the same time because of small calorific value andpoor atomization, lack of power and the engine start at low temperature problems will appearin the course of the vehicle using.In this paper, the design of automotive methanol gasoline control system is proposedagainst the problem in the use of M85methanol gasoline. The system uses the ALTERACompany’s Cyclone Ⅲ series FPGA chip as the main control unit. Through stretching thepulse width of the ECU fuel injection signal, so that the fuel injection pulse width meets themethanol gasoline, thus solves the problem that car’s using of methanol gasoline. Temperaturesensing module collects the temperature near the car engine and transmits to MCU, thedifferences in temperature intelligently adjusts the fuel injection pulse width to solve theengine start problems with high proportion of methanol gasoline in low temperature. Modechange-over switch is designed to ensure that M85methanol gasoline and93#gasoline can beused normally, according to different fuel switching. The design of oil detect device usingvariational permittivity sensor makes the system can automatically detects the type of fuel.Finally, after the simulation of system and the bench test of car, then the data can be processedand analyzed.Cars can travel normally and stably either with M85methanol gasoline or93#gasolinewhen the system is installed. Through analyzing results of the simulation and test, M85methanol gasoline is below93#gasoline in emission. It is also very competitive in terms ofcost. The system is a product used in new energy, and plays an important role in nationalpromotion of methanol gasoline.
