As the highway network planning in Gansu province,"four longitudinal and fourtransverse four-fold" strategy implemented gradually, highway in Gansu province has beendeveloping fast, convenient and efficient expressway network system for rapidsocio-economic development of Gansu province has played a positive role in promoting.While,the special location of Gansu Province, the ecological environment is fragile alpineclouds, ravines, spectacular, frequent natural disasters, causing a bad influence on thehighway and facilities along the route, serious harm to people’s lives and property safetyand the normal operation of the highway. Therefore, there is a need for sudden-onset naturaldisaster risk evaluation in Expressway in Gansu province, and accompanying securitysystem and safety control strategy.In this paper, the concepts related to the understanding of natural disaster risk, througha risk assessment study on the basic principles and basic methods of analysis, Determined toAnalytic Hierarchy Process, experts marking method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluationin one comprehensive evaluation of quantitative evaluation and qualitative assessment,supplemented by the method.Second, understanding of Gansu province to climate conditions, terrain conditions,hydrogeological conditions, Through the type of high-speed Expressway disasters in Gansuprovince, and get10main type of disaster along the section in Gansu province, afteranalyzing the impact of various disaster types on highway traffic safety, an in-depth studyon the factors influencing the type of major disaster, Select9and10respectively to furtherexplain the indicators and evaluation indicators, Construction of theoretical model of riskevaluation of geological, meteorological disasters, Using the analytic hierarchy process,expert marking method, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method for risk evaluation ofgeological and meteorological disasters along the expressway, and get the risk level anddraw along the section of the target cell.Finally, through analysis of Gansu Province Highway management level ofdevelopment, construction of Expressway operation safety system under the condition of natural disasters and emergency control strategy, summarized the natural disasters along theroad sections and development of basic features, develop security control measures for eachtype of disaster and speed limits reference standard, for the safe operation of Expressway inGansu province, the rapid socio-economic development and people’s life and propertysafety to provide the necessary protection.
