With the rapid development of computer technology and modeling and simulationwidely used in modern industrial engineering, the rapid development and great progress ismade in engineering modeling and simulation, basing on multi-domain modeling languageModelica. Otherwise, the progress and innovation of the modeling and simulation oftechnical is greatly promoted in the field of modern engineering. However, when the rapiddevelopment is made in aerospace, aviation, robotics and other high-tech industries andthe scientific exploration gradually deepen, it is forced that the rapid increase in the scaleand complexity is taken for many devices and apparatus. What’s more, the complexity anddifficulty of system modeling also increases. Therefore, the necessary cost of human,material and financial for modeling and maintenance also increases. So the urgent demandis growing fastly on the reliability and the maintainability of the model. On this issue,basing on multi-domain modeling language Modelica, aimed at several key mechanism ofthe compiling process for multi-domain modeling, the deeply study for reliabilityconstraints of Modelica model is proposed in this paper to achieve a more complete modeldiagnosis mechanism. The main contribution of this paper include following.First, via the analysis of key elements and common process of model diagnosis,according to constraints and restricts of MLS(Modelica Language Specification) formodeling, the process of the model diagnosis for Modelica is concluded. What’s more, thekey mechanisms, including Balanced Models Mechanism and Units Checking andDeducing Mechanism, are described about model reliability constraints for Modelica. Andthen, these key mechanisms are applied into the process of model diagnosis.Second, a key mechanism, Balanced Models Mechanism, is researched in this section.According to the MLS, via analysing the constraints and restricts of MLS, a set ofimpeccable constraints and validation methods is concluded. And the validation methodsof Balance model are explained by example.Third, a key mechanism, Units Checking and Deducing Mechanism, is researched inthis section. According to the rules of unit form SI(The International System of Units),based on the unit’s significance of the physical model, it is achieved that Modelica unitexpressions can be parsed and calculated. The logic verification algorithm in the modeldiagnosis is designed and realized for unit checking and deducing. Finnally, Balanced Models Mechanism and Units Checking and DeducingMechanism are applied to MWorks, unifed multi-domain modeling and simulationplatform.
