From Chaos To Order: Restructuring And Reorganization Of The Spatial Structure Of The Metropolitan Area In Contemporary Big City

Urban spatial structure is the way of the relationship between the various componentsor elements in the urban system demonstrated by the evolution of the development ofurban space. Since the establishment of the market economy system, especially since the1990s, the space of China’s largest city came into the high-speed development stage，in thedual role of agglomeration and diffusion, the development of urban space has been out ofthe central city areas, so space structure pattern has undergone tremendous changes,showing a new era of characteristics in the level of urban metropolitan areas space.Summarized the form characteristic, dynamic mechanism, planning mode and trends ofthe spatial structure of the metropolitan area in contemporary China’s major cities, andproposed some optimization strategy on how to build a sustainable spatial structure modelof the big cities of the metropolitan area during the transition period, has certaintheoretical and practical significance.In this paper, took the typical big cities in China as the research object, and took theboundaries of metropolitan areas which is determined in the overall urban planning as theresearch scope, using the methods of summarized deductive analysis, and focus on thefollowing contents:①phenomenon and characteristics of the spatial development of themetropolitan area of contemporary China’s major cities;②reflection and review forcontemporary spatial development of China’s major cities metropolitan area;③dynamicmechanism of metropolitan area space development in contemporary China’s major cities;④spatial structure planning mode of contemporary China’s major cities metropolitan area;⑤the optimization and reorganization strategy for urban spatial structure in contemporaryChina’s major cities.In this paper, analyzed the phenomenon and characteristics of spatial development ofmetropolitan area of China’s big cities in contemporary, and making certain reflection andreview from two aspects, which include the disintegration of the inner city spacerestructuring and the rapid expansion of the city outside space. Secondly, proposed theComprehensive Intervention Model, and dissected the dynamic mechanism of thedevelopment of metropolitan area space in contemporary China’s big cities from the perspective of the new institutional economics. Summarizing five different plann modes ofspatial structure of metropolitan area, include “Strip-space structure mode”,Modular-space structure mode, Clumps-space spatial structure mode, Ring-spacestructure mode, Cluster-space structure model. Finally, proposed an overall urbanspatial structure mode: Multi-center, Group-style, networking, and proposedcorresponding optimization reorganization strategy on the common center structure,function space layout, road traffic structure eco-spatial structure, respectively, under thegoal of building a sustainable development mode of the spatial structure of themetropolitan areas in big cities.
