With the continuous development of automobile’s lightweight, safety requirements,and increment of the aluminized rate, the demand of hub mechanical properties becamehigher and higher too. In order to improve the strength of the aluminum alloy wheel hubunder the special purpose, more attentions were paid to the result of wheel hub fatiguefailure and production process by the enterprises. Wheel production of cooling process,metamorphic process, heat treatment process and other process during wheel productiondirectly affects the internal hub defects, even influencing the performance of wheel hub.Therefore, it’s great importance to study the fatigue failure behavior of wheel hub from theperspective of technology research, and also has a guiding significance and referencevalue for enterprise production special wheel.The research object was wheel hub fatigue strength test results, based on the processtest research, it analyzed the wheel size, fracture morphology, casting hardness, chemicalcomposition, internal defects, mechanical properties, grain size, microstructure, findingthat the reason of the wheel hub fatigue failure. Then it analyzed the weak position of thecasting by finite element method, with contrast research, it pointed out that the productionprocess optimization research can solve the wheel hub fatigue failure fundamentally.Research showed that it could predict the weak position of the casting, guide wheelof experimental study on the production process by numerical simulation and optimizationanalysis, it also made new exploration for production process, improved the casting quality,providing process guides for special aluminum alloy wheel hub of production.
