With the continuous development of automobile's industry, the aluminum alloy wheels are being much more widely used due to its advantages of complicated &diversified appearance,light-weight,less noise and more comfort during driving.Nowadays, the demands for the vehicles' handling and safety performance become more and more among high-level professional end users, while the fracture surface of the tire inclines to be flatter and the requirement on wheel performance becomes higher and higher accordingly. The study on this field for aluminum wheel is rare among the industry. This thesis is elaborating the safety performance of the aluminum wheel with low-flatness-ratio tire mounted. The internal performance & quality of aluminum wheel is tightly bound up with cooling process of casting, casting technology etc. Therefore,it is of great significance to have analysis on safety of aluminum wheel from the perspective of technology combined with the finite element analysis method, which has guiding significance and economic benefits for this kind of product in wheels industry.Through the comparison and study to the result of the reliability test---radial impact test to the rim with low-flatness-ratio tire mounted, from the view of the material's mechanical property analysis and casting defects analysis, and using the method of finite element analysis, the root cause of radial impact test failure can be found, and the problem of radial impact test failure can be by fundamentally solved by improving the process conditions.Research shows, through the material mechanical properties analysis, and casting defect detection methods, combined with the finite element analysis method, the weak position during casting and root cause of failure mode can be predicted, and process conditions can be improved accordingly, which will improve the internal quality of the wheel rim,and satisfy the performance requirement of the aluminum wheel with low-flatness-ratio tire mounted.
