Nowadays, the CAE technology has been widely used in the aluminum alloy wheel fatigue testing. However it is necessary to increase efficiency.The issue focused on a new CAE method for bending fatigue testing and rotary fatigue testing for aluminum alloy wheels.Firstly, according to the periodic symmetry of the wheel, the1/n modal of the two testings mentioned above were established separately by using softwares such as UG and Hypermesh. Then based on the finite element analysis software ABAQUS, their maximum stress results were obtained. Finally inputting the results into the Rotational Symmetry module of the software fe-safe and the location of the minimum life of the wheel was predicted, which matched the actual tests well.After comparing with the results of the whole model, it has been improved that using the1/n modal can increase efficiency effectively. And the works provided references for the CAE technology of the two actual testings in production.
