As an energy conversion mechanical equipment, Centrifugal Oil Pumps arecharacterized by simple structure, smooth operation, as well as be easy to operate andmaintain, which results in widespread use in the electric power, petrochemical,metallurgy, machinery, military industry and other sectors. How to operate theCentrifugal Oil Pump which is key equipment to transport crude oil or liquid oil productsafely, reliably and normally is directly related to the economical deficiency during theworking process. Therefore, to identify and remove the fault sooner, it is necessary todetect, forecast and diagnosis the fault in Centrifugal Oil Pumps, ensuring the normaloperation and avoiding greater economic lose.In this article, through typical analysis of failure in Centrifugal Oil Pump, it issuggested that fault characteristics analysis on rotating parts could be achieved byfusion energy spectrum theory. By applying fuzzy cluster analysis theories, faultdiagnosis fuzzy category is turned into quantitative analysis, of which the conclusioncould lay the foundation for final network diagnosis. Based on the relevant theoreticalknowledge of the BP neural network and take the rotor-imbalance, rotor-misalignment,rotor-rubbing and foundation-loose as examples, three layers BP neural network isestablished through the design of the input layer, hidden layer and output layer.Adapting MATLAB neural network tool kit and designing related parameters, theexpected output fits which coincides the actual output are achieved, completing the faultdiagnosis for Centrifugal Oil Pump.Combining neural network with knowledge of expert system, the author developeda centrifugal oil pump fault diagnosis expert system based on BP neural network.Through using force control configuration software and PLC, it completed the signal’scollection and the development of expert system interface. The interface in this systemis friendly and can be operated simply. It can realize online monitoring and faultdiagnosis of centrifugal oil pump.
