Bridge erecting machine is a special large-scale construction machinery to suspendthe prefabrication girder to the bridge bearing. However, bridge erecting machineincludes railway bridge machine and highway bridge machine. Both of them can not beuniversal, which results in the low efficiency and low utilization rate of the bridgingmachine. With the expansion of national engineering construction and the accelerationof construction process, highway and railway bridge construction unites competesharply. In order to meet the needs of our bridge construction, it has very important andpractical significance to develop a new-style bridge erecting machine.First of all, based on analyzing the current situation of domestic and foreign bridgeerecting machine, a new-type bridge machine—highway-railway walking doublebeam machine, it is carried on the comprehensive and systematic analysis and researchand a mechanical model of highway-railway walking double beam machine is created.Secondly, the employment of the three-dimensional designing software Pro/E hasaccomplished the three-dimensional modeling and virtual assembly of the front legs andlongitudinal girder of rail walking double beam machine. Setting the front legs andlongitudinal girder as the researching objects, seamless connection is achieved throughPro/E and ANSYS Workbench, in which static analysis is carried out under differentcircumstances. Thus the requirements of their stiffness and strength are verified.Finally, the topology optimization and structure optimization of longitudinal girderare fulfilled through the Shape Optimization which is one of the models in ANSYSWorkbench.The rail walking double beam machine developed in this subject is not onlyoptimized designed but also safe. Furthermore it has filled the gap in dual-purposedouble girder erecting machine for highway and railway at home and abroad. It enjoys apromising marketing prospect in the construction of highway and railroad for it couldminimize the investment cost and the economic benefit will be outstanding. Theclassical mechanics model and modern virtual design is perfectly combined during thedesign process which has provided scientific evidence for the research and analysis of the dual-purpose double girder erecting machine for highway and railway.
