The stairs is an important means of vertical transport channel. Under the earthquake, the staircase structure has been encountered devastative destruction. The staircases which were supposed to play the role of help people escape, did not perform their proper functions in face of natural disasters. Before Wenchuan earthquake, while people did structural design, they didn’t consider the staircase’ impact and the seismic design of staircase. The designer designing analysis and calculation of staircase structure is simplified and only considering the gravity load. Do not consider Seismic effect on the stairs.Actually, the influence of consider the effect of stairs on structure is very important in structure calculation. This paper take the frame teaching building for example, Establishing two models according to the codes:one has staircase another hasn’t. It comes to take the staircase structure into calculation and analysis. This paper’ main tasks include:(1) To compare, the frame structure both with or without the staircases, the overall structure’s dynamic response and the force characteristics under the earthquake, such as the basic motion of the structure, natural period of the structure, and the frame structure’s lateral displacement.(2) To compare, under or free from earthquakes, internal forces of surrounding frame components.We can obtain the following conclusion through the study of this paper:he staircase works as the role of diagonal bracing to frame, which can increase the stiffness of the main structure, change the structural stiffness distribution, shorten the natural period of the structure, reduce the frame structure’s lateral displacement and shear force of story. Also the staircase will increase the internal forces of surrounding frame components.
