The virtual reality technology is a new information technology; it combines image processing, computer graphics, artificial intelligence, multi-media technology, sensors, networks, and parallel processing technology, the latest developments of the multiple IT. It is characterized by an artificial virtual environment generated by the computer; this virtual environment is a three-dimensional space through the computer, allowing the user to feel immersed in a virtual environment in a variety of sensory. In this paper, the design of Bulb turbine virtual assembly system combine VR technology and3Ds MAX, Solidworks3D mapping software makes the whole assembly systems, whether from the hydropower plant roaming or bulb turbine installation process can allow users to observation and study at the same time and can produce immersive feel.The paper makes an overview about virtual reality technology X3D modeling language firstly, as the back of the system to achieve the basics. Then introduced to three-dimensional modeling of the hydropower plant and bulb turbine using3Ds MAX and Solidworks. In order to improve the browsing speed of virtual assembly system, discusses the scene of optimization techniques, you can use code reuse, the prototype plastic as well as the use Inline node to achieve. Second, by comparing a variety of interactive methods, using X3D interactive features and scripting language to achieve the interactive features of the virtual assembly system.
