With the rapid development of computer information technology,virtual simulation and augmented reality technology are widely used in the machinery industry.It can be used to develop virtual operation,virtual assembly and virtual machining system of mechanical products,which can save a lot of money for users.Especially in large,complex or unpredictable dangerous workplace,the research of virtual simulation and augmented reality technology of mechanical products is of great significance.Unity3 D has developed rapidly in recent years,and it is an important tool that can be applied to the development of 3D virtual reality.At present,there are few researches on the virtual assembly and machining simulation system of mechanical products using Unity3 D at home and abroad.In this context,we proposed the subject of “Research on Virtual Simulation and Augmented Reality Application Technology of Mechanical Products Based on Unity3D”.This paper combined with SolidWorks,3DS Max and Unity3 D engine as the development platform,mainly completed the following works:(1)Taking some type of air compressor as the virtual assembly object,the three-dimensional model of the air compressor is established,and the model is processed;Using C# programming language to write scripts,the automatic assembly and interactive assembly of air compressor is realized.(2)With the application of Unity3D's Vuforia augmented reality technology,the mobile tracking registration based on natural features is implemented;Through programming,a screen touch operation method is developed,which can realize the augmented reality operation of the corresponding mechanical products on the mobile terminal.(3)The collision detection technology based on hierarchical bounding box is studied,the collision detection in virtual machining is realized by using PhysX physics engine,and the machining process of turning,boring and grinding are simulated.(4)The technology of Unity3 D product release is studied,which can release the virtual simulation and augmented reality system of mechanical products in different operating systems such as Windows and Android.In this paper,Unity3 D and its virtual simulation and augmented reality technology are applied to mechanical products,the prototype system of mechanical product's virtual assembly and simulation of machining function and augmented reality assembly is realized,which has a good practicality.This technology can provide a certain basis for 3D visualization of virtual teaching and training of mechanical products,and also has certain exploration and reference significance for the depth application of virtual simulation and augmented reality technology in mechanical products.
