Due to the vast territory and complicated environmental of china, the effect ofinfluencing factors that acting on building structure in different environments will beunequal. Therefore, making a detailed analysis of the durability for structures those indifferent environments is necessary. Based on the previous research achievement, thispaper will set up a grey correlation evaluation model which is based on extension analytichierarchy process. Then predict the remaining life of concrete structure by grey systemtheory.This paper expounded the meaning and content of durability evaluation for concretestructure and the environment characteristics of china, and summarized the methods ofdurability evaluation at present. According to the environment characteristics of china, theenvironment will be divided into five types, including dry environment, hot and humidenvironment, freeze-thaw cycle environment, marine environment, deicing salt or otherchloride environment. The durability is divided into five grades and each gradecorresponds to a range of grey corelation. This paper will adopt the grey single-tierevaluation model to determine the durability for structure under a specific environment.Only the material level in the influencing factors be considered which includes carbonation,chloride ion erosion, freezing, corrosion and alkali-aggregate reaction. The extensioninterval will be introduced into the analytic hierarchy process and be used to establish thepaired comparison matrix which based on the durability index, in order to ascertain theprimary weight value of each factor in specific environment. According to the measuredresults of index value to solve the entropy, that represent the relative important of eachfactor. Then combine with the primary weight value and the entropy become utility weightvalue. Finally, calculate the grey correlation of durability through a combination of utilityweight value and the correlation coefficient which link the measurement index and optimalindex. After the establishment of durability evaluation system, the grey correlation will beassociated with the remaining life of structure. This paper will bring forward using the greysystem theory to forecast the remaining life. First of all, transform the grey corelation to holistic scathing value and then use the grey GM (1,1)model to calculate the holisticscathing value list from periodical testing results. After that, the remaining life when thescathing value comes to a certain finite value will could be predicted. Finally, this paperwill apply the durability evaluation model and the prediction model of remaining life topractical engineering. The results show a good agreement with the actual situation. So, thismethod has a certain practicality.
