Building energy conservation is getting more and more attention by the whole society,and the energy consumption of air conditioning system accounts for a large proportion inthe whole building energy consumption. Therefore, the air conditioning system energysaving is the key element of building energy conservation, and the energy saving of thewater system is the main content of the air conditioning system. Nowadays, most existingair conditioning systems are using constant primary flow system, but most of the time, thechiller is not running at the rated load, which leads that constant primary flow systemalways coming out "high flow, low temperature difference" situation, that makes thechiller’s actual performance bad and the actual operation of the chiller is not conductive toenergy conservation.With the chiller’s technology improved and the inverter technology becomingpopular, more and more building’s central air conditioning system began to use variableprimary flow system to solve the air conditioning water system’s low operation energyefficiency issues. This article bases on the application of the chiller, combined with theproject of Guangzhou Fuda Tianhe Hospital, research on the optimal allocation andoperation of the water chiller in air conditioning system. This project’s construction area isabout18,000square meters, the summer cooling load is1470KW, using a1050KW chillerand a530KW chiller; with the process of design----analysis and selection of equipmentperformance characteristics----optimize the chiller configuration----configure the groupcontrol system----analysis the original data, to do technical research and analysis ofcharacteristics of the variable primary flow system operating characteristics and operationof the chiller. With the actual operation experiment, test the chiller’s performanceparameters, research and analysis the chiller’s characteristics, the chiller’s selection andconfiguration, operation mode and variable flow characteristics when using variableprimary flow system. Base on which we put forward the strategy of the chiller’soptimizing configuration and operation, the optimized allocation of system and ordinaryconstant primary flow system were compared.The result shows that, compare with constant primary flow system, the optimizedallocation of the chiller in air conditioning water system, the SEER increased by23.3%,the annual energy consumption is reduced by16.7%, which means the energy-savingeffect is remarkable.
