Retaining structure with double-row piles is a kind of support structure for deep foundation pit rising in recent years. Its design and calculation generally includes three aspects: the content of the supporting structure strength, deformation and stability checking calculation. Among them, stability against overturning is one of the key issues in the design of retaining structure with double-row piles, which requires stability of both the surrounding soils of foundation pit and supporting structure. In this paper, theoretical analysis, model test and finite element method are combined to analyze the stability against overturning of retaining structure with double-row piles. The main work and contribution of this paper are as follows:1. Summary the application status and main calculation methods of retaining structure with double-row piles in foreign and domestic researches. Come up with the drawbacks of current specification in requirements to stability against overturning and determine two different types of calculation models of double-row piles supporting structure.Establish two kinds of the safety factor of anti-overturning formula separately.2. Carry out load test on anti-overturning towards double-row piles model framework and combine the ABAQUS finite element software to simulate the study procedures. The feasibility of finite element software simulation is proved by comparing the measured data with simulated data.3. Summary basic theories of finite element in the paper using ABAQUS finite element software and establish the finite element model of retaining structure with double-row piles, analyze the calculated output of double row pile lateral soil pressure and stress of connecting beam at the top of the front pile. Plug the result of finite element software in the two formulas of calculating anti-overturning model and get the safety factor of anti-overturning of double-row pile. Discuss the influence of factors like array pitch, cohesion of soil and internal friction angles of soil, to stability of double-row pile anti-overturning.4. In order to study the deformation of retaining structure with double-row piles in foundation pit excavation, using ABAQUS finite element software to simulate the process of deep foundation pit excavation in Yangzhou city and analyze the deformation and anti-overturning stability of retaining structure with double-row piles. Compare results with the measured data and finally give suggestions to the calculation method of anti-overturning stability in the design of retaining structure with double-row piles.
