Sheet piling is generally fabricated from rolled steel or reinforced concrete,whichcan be used in rock foundation or the other foundation. In temporary low retainingwall, the wood pile can also be used in soil foundation. Sheet pile in soft foundationunder the condition of low bearing capacity is more appropriate. Under the conditionsof construction machinery, sheet piling can speed up the construction, reduce theproject cost. In domestic large excavation projects, such as underground railwayengineering,large-scale high-rise building foundation engineering,quay and dockantiscour engineering,sheet piling is also widely used.Because sheet piling is an essential part of foundation engineering and hydraulicstructures,and because there is a certain lack of systematic method of presenting thetfindamental calculations of sheet piling in available textbooks,it was felt desirable toinclude some applications.Firstly,This paper briefly introduces the theoretical basis ofsheet pile calculation^then,cantilever sheet piling is made for an example.The mainstudy is the earth pressure distribution for the straight line,with setting up andsolving its physical and mathematical models,based on the classic earth pressuretheory, ie,Rankinethe earth pressure theory. The cantilever sheet pile below theground suffered is determined by its balance equation and distribution of earthpressure.Through the linear distribution of earth pressure of cantilever sheet pileirgidity calculation analysis, using powerM Mathcad sotfware programming,comparing the factors affecting the results of comparison results show that: with theincrease of excavation depth, the buried mounted depth increases gradually; And withthe increase of angle of internal friction, the buried mounted depth decreases. Then,the paper makes a large number of data statistical analysis about the factors to lookingfor the reasonable approximation to the excavation depth h buried mounted depth d,and examples demonstrate. The comparative analysis of the above calculation results,it proposed to simplify the program and solving cantilever sheet pile buried mounteddepth d by its program of equation in the actual project.
