Steel sheet pile cofferdam is the most common form of waterproofing cofferdam, especially in underwater construction of pile caps, underwater pier, it can not only be used as a template of the back cover concrete, but also the common waterproof effect and concrete, also can be used as water retaining structure in the cofferdam construction. In steel sheet pile cofferdam construction scheme calculation, the traditional calculation methods using simplified calculation model of soil layer spacing generally take experience value, rare shape of the literature research.Based on the engineering background of 8 # pier cofferdam in Ping Zhou Bridge, using Midas/Civil and Abaqus CAE to design scheme of cofferdam construction and stress calculation, calculation content mainly includes :The steel sheet pile "kicking" buckling calculation; Steel sheet pile cofferdam of piping; Bottom sealing concrete thickness calculation, The structure of the steel sheet pile structure calculation, Strength calculation, The supporting stiffness checking and Compression bar buckling calculation, etc. The design calculation m ethod used in this article is fast and convenient, It is the most commonly construction method. Soil layer spacing value experience in the design of this solution is 1 m, in this paper, by changing the soil spring soil in the calculation of the distance, g et a different spring coefficient K value, role in the calculation model and different calculation results are obtained, Compared with the finite element analysis software to build model and get a conclusion.The main research content is as follows:(1)In practical engineering, usually take simplified calculation method as construction design. This calculation method is convenient and quick, It’s widely used. This article used this calculation method in 8 # pier cofferdam design and stress calculation;Take soil as a elastic coefficient of elastic support.(2)In the process of the simplified model, soil layer spacing value of experience, This article try to change this value, take six in the control group and compared with the finite element model, found the simplified calculation can reflect the actual stress of the structure in a certain extent, but when the value is too big or too little will have a adverse effects on the results.(3) Through in the control group in the process of simplifying calculation, o n the values of K value, the soil spring soil layer spacing is too large, also shoulds not be too small, take 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, is close to the simulated values. Can be seen from this article stress value increases with the spacing, bending moment value with spacing increases, the displacement with spacing increases, the shear along with the spacing increases.
